秋田県の環境・リサイクル技術

Akita is rich in natural resources including geothermal power, water power, oil and gas. This allows Akita to plays an important role as a provider of resources in Japan whose resources are limited. Although in the past Akita was host to a vibrant mining industry, today all of the mines are closed. After World War II, large deposits of ore, such as black ore in Kosaka, were found one after another in Akita's mines, allowing them to prosper. After the mid 1970s, however, the influx of cheaper ores from abroad forced mining businesses here to restructure or scale down, and by 1994 all the mines in Akita were closed or suspended.

リサイクル製錬

Kosaka Smelting & Refining's operation have shifted from mineral ore refining to refining recycled materials such as the metal from used electronic products. Taking advantage of the high processing and refining technology advanced during the black ore mining time, they recycle of a variety of metals from gold, silver, copper, zinc to rare metals such as bismuth and indium. 。
